4-5 Year Old Child -  Monday, Wednesday & Friday 8:00AM to 11:00AM

Our Fox Den is an enrichment program for the four-year-old child and meets three days a week, 3 hours per day. This enrichment program is designed to help children progress in a variety of skills to prepare for kindergarten, to become socially aware and responsible for themselves and to create a love of learning. The Fox Den is designed as a learning setting with 20 minutes of free play, 30-40 minutes circle time and 40-60 minutes table rotation time, which is where we do language arts, math, science and art in 3-20 minute rotations. We have a 20-30 minute time frame of a little outside play (weather permitting). Children participate in age-appropriate activities, such as unstructured hands-on play, group story time, themed activities and collaborate learning with peers.

When teaching the alphabet, phonics, numbers, handwriting, shapes & colors we use "Learning Without Tears", "Zoo-Phonics" & "All About Learning".  These curriculums have proven to be successful as it grow with the child in each of our programs. The Fox Den is designed to enrich the child while they are preparing for kindergarten. Child must turn 4 by September 1st.

Kindergarten ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
Our 3-day a week kindergarten enrichment program provides an opportunity for the kindergarten child to learn and practice social, emotional, problem-solving, and the skills to learn to study, which are skills your child will use throughout his/her educational journey. Our small 12:2 child/adult ratio provides a more intimate setting for the kindergarten age child. This enrichment program is structured so we have 45 minutes of ELA 3 times a week, and 45 minutes of Math 3 times a week, with groups of 4:1 child/adult ratio, making each child a priority and meeting his/her needs in the program. We offer science/social studies 2-3 times a week. Our focus in this enrichment program is to build critical skills in reading and math's traditional benchmarks, without putting a lot of pressure on the child. We strive to create a love of learning environment.

We use the following curriculum...

* Language Arts/Geography/Art-

All About Learning Pre-Reading Program is perfect for kindergarten! It focuses on the five fundamental pre-reading skills: letter knowledge, phonological awareness, print awareness, listening comprehension, and motivation to read. It is this specific set of skills that helps pre-readers understand the basics of language and how it works, preparing them to learn to read.

With the All About Reading Pre-Reading Program, your child will play special games, enjoy interesting crafts, and engage in charming story-time activities, all the while absorbing important pre-reading skills. Some students will master pre-reading and move on to level 1. The goal is to take the struggle out of reading and spelling—for you and your student. These comprehensive programs, All About Reading and All About Spelling, are easy to teach and easy to learn.

With All About Reading, your student will develop these five fundamental pre-reading skills:
  • Print Awareness
  • Phonological Awareness
  • Letter Knowledge
  • Listening Comprehension
  • Motivation to Read
We also enrich the child with Explode the Code, Learning without Tears and Dash into Learning for writing and phonics.

* Math-
Kindergarten Math with Confidence! The carefully sequenced and confident-building lessons help the child develop a strong understanding of math, step by step. It’s playful, hands-on, and fun with thorough coverage of all the skills your child needs to become capable and confident at math.

·               Reading, writing, and comparing numbers
·               Beginning addition and subtraction
·               Shapes, patterns, and directions
·               Counting to 100
·               Money, time and measurement

All About Math is a multi-sensory program that carefully builds children’s understanding of how our number system works. Using this program during table rotations makes for a fun time of games, but the students are learning.

* Science/Social Studies-
We take a unique fun approach to enrich science/social studies with our fun Raddish Kids cooking course 2 times a month. Celebrating different cultures & cuisines cooking in the kitchen! We explore different languages, geography, and traditions through cooking. For example, we  roll our own sushi, make homemade teriyaki sauce, and learn to stir-fry while learning all about the country Japan!
We use 180 Days of Science and Social Studies when we are not enriching the kids in the kitchen.
